Built on Experience.

Dickey Boats embodies its people's passion for boating as a lifestyle and the ocean as a canvas for adventure.

Founded in 2010 by Jason and Tristin Dickey, the company reflects the pair's lifelong relationship with the water. Each grew up with the classic Kiwi fishing and boating experience familiar to many as significant family pastimes.

The team bring contrasting yet complementary backgrounds to the business.

Tristin’s corporate success in HR and general management with one of Australasia’s most successful clothing brands delivers vital business experience and professional competency to the family business.

Jason’s career in the marine industry started from school with an apprenticeship, leading to a decade as a superyacht engineer travelling the remotest corners of the world's oceans. Three global circumnavigations later, it was time to return to Napier and put his skill and vision into product and service.

Professionalism is a hallmark of the company. It’s reflected in every member of the team. All apply their craft with focus and pride and are the foundation of Dickey Boats ongoing success.

Aluminium, but not as you know it.

Conceived, designed and built employing the space frame technology utilised by the shipping industry, each hull is constructed entirely of 5083 grade aluminium.

Aluminium lays the platform to deliver the customisation, strength and class-leading performance Dickey Boats has delivered consistently since its foundation.

As a boat-building material, aluminum is light and strong allowing improved power to weight ratios over alternative materials. Customisation can be delivered without the burden of additional tooling allowing innovative solutions to be developed and refined.

Combined with advanced epoxy paint protection systems, aluminium offers Dickey Boats owners a product which is the envy of the industry.

Superior Interior.

Routinely described as works of art on the outside, the celebrated attention detail continues seamlessly to the detailing of every model's interior.

Complimenting the high degree of customised cabin configuration on offer, in most cases every detail, fabric and furnishing on an in-build vessel can be tailored to the discretion of the owner.

With marine and technical requirements considered via expert input from our in-house design team, final choices are applied with a craftman's touch to deliver on-board living spaces of exquisite detail while maintaining the versatility demanded of an adventurous boating lifestyle.

Lean Machine.

Across the entire Dickey Boats range, our company enjoys a reputation for delivering some of the most fuel efficient multi-purpose vessels in New Zealand and perhaps the world.

The hulls in the Semifly class are specifically designed for the installation of lean-running stern-drive and IPS power-plants and routinely deliver fuel burn figures unachievable with traditional stern drives with no compromise to rough-water handling and ride.

Recorded real world figures for a fully-loaded flagship Semifly 45 crossing the Tasman in 2019 were two litres per nautical mile at eight knots and five litres per nautical mile at 25 knots.
