Interiors

The Dickey Boats team is enjoying ongoing success and demand across all three of vessel ranges and has more exciting projects in the pipeline. Driven by growth, the company now seeks an additional tradesperson to join the Interiors team.

With a growing range of custom and innovative boats, an opportunity is now available in our Fitout - Interiors team.  Dickey Boats is looking for an exceptional team member, not afraid of hard work, with an unflinching focus on quality workmanship while always striving to exceed customer expectations.

The Fitout Interiors team is made up of specialists in bespoke marine interiors, cabinetmaking and upholstery.  Ideal candidates will offer outstanding abilities in specific areas such as Upholstery or Cabinet making and trimming while presenting an appetite to learn and grow skills in all areas.

This is a fast-paced environment that would suit an energetic tradesperson who has an eye for detail and enjoys being part of a successful team culture.

Responsibilities

As part of the fitout - interiors team, you may be responsible for:

·        Assembly and installation of cabinetry solutions across our range of boats - utilising both laminate and veneered surfaces.

·        Soft interior linings (eg foam-backed vinyl coverings or marine carpet trimming), flooring options and general fit out.

·        Upholstery solutions - working on custom designs for seating and squab solutions, working with vinyls, leathers and fabrics, single and double needle machines and detailed panelling and trims.

You will have excellent general finishing abilities, an eye for detail and a knowledge of the marine environment and its effect on materials. Ideally, you will be trade qualified (or currently completing) and a passion for boats would certainly help!

Alternatively to having worked in the marine sector, you may have experience in a different industry such as a furniture maker, kitchen joiner, Auto trimmer or campervan interiors and are able to transfer these skills into a boatbuilding environment.

Either way, you will need to demonstrate a genuine commitment to the continuous improvement of the product, the systems and processes, and like to challenge your abilities.

If any of these roles in our Fitout Interiors team sound like they could provide your next challenge, please send a cover letter and CV tocareers@dickeyboats.co.nz.
