About Dickey Boats:

Dickey Boats is an aluminium boat building company, based in Napier.  The Dickey Boats team are passionate about their craft and have been at the cutting edge of innovative boatbuilding over the past 15 years.

About the role:

The Workshop Junior is a crucial role within the operations team, ensuring the skilled operations staff are able to perform their tasks efficiently, and requires a respectful, responsible and reliable individual.

This is a varied role, from sweeping floors, to unpacking and sorting equipment, assisting in fabrication or fit-out, helping out in sea tests, cleaning boats or carrying out workshop maintenance.  The ability to multitask and work through priorities are important skills to have.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with some weekend work required.  Some nationwide travel may also be required as part of this role.

About the applicant:

Attitude and enthusiasm are crucial for this role.

Our expert staff are eager to share their knowledge, experience and skills to candidates who demonstrate willingness to learn and a vigilance in delivering a first-class customer experience.

You’ll be someone who is honest and hardworking.  A successful Workshop Junior at Dickey Boats is highly self-motivated, energetic, and very organised. Due to the nature of the work, a good level of physical fitness is required.

A restricted driver’s license is required, although a full license is preferred.

Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous as well as a passion for boats.  Some hands-on practical skills and experience will be beneficial, but all required training will be given.

In return for your commitment and hard work, we offer a pathway into an industry that has endless opportunities, to take on an apprenticeship and develop an exciting career.
