About the role
At Dickey Boats, paint is an essential part of the boat building process. Our vessels are famed for the quality of their marine coatings, and it’s the paint team that is tasked with continuing our reputation for industry-leading paint finishes on world-class vessels.
This is a broad marine painting role, which is vital to with tasks completed to the highest standards, including:
- Application of filling/fairing compound
- Hand sanding (using 1 and 2-man boards)
- Masking and protecting
- Coating application – predominantly using spray paint guns
- Service and repair work
Clear guidance and procedures are in place for all tasks.
Physical fitness is a prerequisite for the role. An enthusiasm for boats and the marine environment will contribute significantly to your success at Dickey Boats.
About the candidate
Dickey Boats is looking for two hard-working, honest, respectful individuals who bring enthusiasm to the company.
The following skills and experience are highly desirable:
- Experience in a marine painting role or experience in a similar trade or manufacturing environment (eg panel beating or auto painting)
- Hands-on practical skills and experience in hand and power tools
- Eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks, ensuring the job is completed
- A passion for boats and the marine environment
